I am so sick of the "Russians can't drive" stereotype.

It's not just Youtube comments, either. People mention it in person all the time. No shit the country with the most dash cams is going to capture the most crashes on video. It's a concept that a 9-year-old kid can easily understand. And yet here we are, grown adults laughing about how terrifying it must be to drive in Russia since everyone is always drunk and no one has a license.

I'm sorry...I know people that have spent time there. They can't fucking drive. I see more atrocities in one of these videos than I've ever seen in all my years in the US on this earth across the country. That's not coincidence. It's just a fact. And there's thousands of these videos, each 10+ minutes long. The things you see in them are just not seen here.

Nope, gonna have to disagree with you there. I've spoken to two Russians who've emigrated here to the U.S. and they've straight up told me that Russians indeed can't drive for shit. They said it's because compared to most of the West, the idea of everyone being able to own and drive a vehicle is still a relatively new concept - basically, they're still getting used to it, is what they told me.

But no, sorry. They can't fucking drive. Not yet.

@ 1:14 the people that witnessed the accident just keep on walking, so that might prove how common car crashes are there.

Given what is actually known about Russian drinking habits, the type of weather they have, and the generally poor state of their road systems, why is it not reasonable to assume that driving there is indeed a nightmare?
